We’re taking a look at how to catch a Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! These will only spawn during the winter, and they have kind of a weird requirement for actually showing up in your game. We’ll take a look at all the information you need to know on how to catch this thing in the guide below.
How to Catch a Dung Beetle
The Dung Beetle will only spawn in the winter and under some specific circumstances. Here’s a look at when you can find them in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere and at what time of day.
- Northern Hemisphere: December - February Southern Hemisphere: June - August Active Hours: All day Price: 3,000 Bells
Once you’re in the correct time frame, we’ll need to be looking for snowballs that appear on your island during the snow period. Dung Beetles will only spawn if there’s a snowball to push around the map. This is probably a good thing, given the alternative of what they usually push around. The snowballs spawn randomly on your island, so run around looking for snowballs and hope to find one being pushed by a Dung Beetle! They can be a little hard to catch with your net, but don’t worry they won’t run away if you miss.
