There are many different fish to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including the Saddled Bichir. This fish is worth 4000 Bells, so while it’s not the best for farming Bells, you will need to get it at least once for your little notebook.

To find the Saddled Bichir, you will need to look for fish spawns in rivers. The Saddled Bichir has a large-sized shadow, but that doesn’t guarantee you will catch it, as many fish share this shadow size. The Barreleye will be available to catch from 9 pm to 4 am, from June to September in the Northern Hemisphere, and between December and March in the Southern Hemisphere.

So, to recap:

Northern Hemisphere

  • Fish at riversLarge size shadowAvailable from 9 pm to 4 amFrom June to September

Southern Hemisphere

  • Fish at riversLarge size shadow Available from 9 pm to 4 am From December to March

One item that will prove very useful in your quest to catch the Saddled Bichir or any other fish for that matter is Fish Bait. Be sure to bring some with you when you plan on fishing, as it will make more fish spawn.
