In Elden Ring, players will have a range of Sorceries and Incantations to choose from, for both offensive and defensive measures. Knowing when to use spells, and most importantly how to change between long-range and close-range spells will make a huge difference in combat.

To change Sorceries and Incantations, simply rest at a Site of Grace and select the Memorize Spells option. Finding Memory Stones will unlock more Memory Slots where spells can be equipped or removed. To use spells during combat, players will have to equip a Sorcery or Incantation catalyst like the Carian Regal Sceptre or Golden Order Seal to their right-hand or left-hand armament. You can also change the keybind which switches Sorcery and Incantation mid-combat by visiting controls.

Players will come across various Sorceries and Incantations across the vast and open-world of Elden Ring. Using these spells will require FP, but it will give you an option to engage enemies from a distance. While some only require a single Slot with low FP consumption, powerful spells will require more Slots.

Make sure to have a variety of spells in your arsenal that can be used during every situation. Most often players will need a combination of offensive and healing spells, so its ideal to keep them equipped in the Memory Slots.
