In contrast to the previous games, players will not just complete a Pokédex, but build it from scratch. Because of this, you’ll have to do a bit more work to fill out each Pokédex entry, as simply catching it once doesn’t cut it. Here’s how to check the Pokédex registration conditions for each Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

You can view registration requirements by pressing Down on the D-pad to open up your Pokédex. Once you open it up, you’ll be able to scroll through all of the Pokémon you have encountered. After you find the Pokémon you’re looking to register, press A until you get to the Research Tasks tab. This tab will show you a list of tasks you can perform to get your Pokémon registered.

You can use the Research Tasks tab to easily check how many tasks have been completed and how close your Pokémon is to being registered. To get a Pokémon fully registered into your Pokédex, you have to get its Research Level to level 10. Your Pokémon’s Research level will increase by one for each task you’ve completed.

Though there are quite a few total tasks for each Pokémon, you will only need to complete 10 of them in order to get to level 10. Additionally, you can gain multiple Research Levels by repeating the same task, as certain tasks have multiple tiers that each award a Research Level.

While creating a Pokédex may seem like a tedious chore, it doesn’t take too long to get a Pokémon fully registered. The process actually makes the game a bit more engaging.
