Opening your inventory to check ammo, items, or audio logs in The Callisto Protocol can be done nearly any time. On PC, this is done with TAB, while both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will use Up on the D-Pad. It can be difficult to manage inventory well enough as Jacob can only carry so much, and it’s hard to know just where the next Forge station will be around. These are some helpful tips for checking and managing the inventory in The Callisto Protocol.

How to check and manage your inventory in The Callisto Protocol

Checking Jacob’s inventory can be done by pressing Up on the D-Pad on a controller and TAB on the keyboard. To quickly swap weapons, players can use 1 on the keyboard or Left on the D-Pad or open up their weapon switch menu by pressing 2 or Right. This will also show how much ammo is available for every unlocked weapon. You can also equip weapons in the inventory menu to decide which two weapons are more easily quickly swapped for.

Inventory space is very limited and can require some sacrifice. Sellable items can give Jacob a lot of Callisto Credits to upgrade his weapons or purchase ammo, but often this can mean having to drop something to carry. Some ammunition types are more valuable to keep, as some objects will only sell for 100 Credits. Health Injectors also sell for 100 Credits each and can always be used to top off Jacob’s health instead of just dropping. When deciding what to keep for inventory, one important thing to note is that anything dropped will stay at its location unless Jacob dies and reverts to a checkpoint.

Health Injectors are easier to drop and return to when in low health because healing during a fight is difficult. Certain areas prohibit backtracking where this can backfire, but in cases like these, it’s better to leave items like the GRP Batteries instead, as the GRP will recharge out of combat regardless.
