Willow, the archaeologist, needs your help assembling her team for one last job. Though you only need to be a novice to complete this quest, we have some tips and tricks to help you open the doors leading into Ice Mountain.
Ice Mountain Quest Guide for OSRS
To begin the quest, all you need to do is speak to Willow, located on the path south of Ice Mountain. Make sure that you have bread and a knife on you. We’d also recommend being at least a level 15 in combat and a level 10 in mining and having some discretionary funds.
Assembling the team
After you speak to Willow, you’ll need to talk to Burntof, Checkal, and Marley to convince them to rejoin the group. Checkal is found in the center of Barbarian Village. He needs you to train with his friend Atlas before he joins up. Talk to Atlas and complete the training sequence to earn the Flex emote. Before going back to Checkal, buy some beer and meat if you still need to get it. Show your new moves off to Checkal, and he’ll jump on board.
Burntof is hanging out in the Rising Sun Inn in Falador. He’s both an explosives genius and a bit of a drunk, so to get him to team up, you’ll need to bring him a beer. Hand over the drink, and he’ll tell you he’ll join if you beat him in a match of rock, paper, scissors. It doesn’t matter which option you choose because Burntof is too drunk to really remember how to play.
Finally, go find Marley, creeping around the yew trees in the Edgeville ruins. All Marley truly wants is a steak sandwich from the Blue Moon Inn, a joint he was banned from. Go to the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock. While the chef won’t give you a steak sandwich, he will teach you how to make one using a knife on cooked meat with bread. Hand over the steak sandwich, and you can all return to Willow.
Opening the doors
Return to the ancient doors on the western side of Ice Mountain and speak to Willow. The team will move quickly to unblock the door. At this point, Willow tells you she’s not actually an archaeologist. Instead, she’s a grave robber who thinks there’s loot behind the rocks. Now that you know too much, she’ll have to kill you.
Just in time, however, Burntof trips a trap that awakens the level 25 Ancient Guardian. Overwhelmed, the grave robbers flee and leave you to deal with the boss fight. You can either fight the guardian through combat or mine the structural pillars in each corner of the room. Mining will cause rocks to fall, damaging the guardian and killing it.
Once the guardian is dead, use the opportunity to loot the bag Willow dropped when she fled. Doors leading deeper into the mountain will open and reveal Ramarno, one of the few Imcando dwarves who survived the Runecrafting Crusades. Ramarno tells you they’ve lived here ever since, in the Ruins of Camdozaal.
