Penances in Warhammer 40k Darktide are notorious for being quite tricky to achieve. They usually require preplanning and forethought before they are to be attempted. The Warp Battery Penance, however, takes the difficulty level to a whole new level due to a bug. To help you complete this Penance and overcome the bug in this game, we have made this guide for you.

How to finish Warp Battery Penance in Warhammer 40k Darktide

To successfully finish Warp Battery Penance in Warhammer 40k Darktide, you need to play with a Psyker with Level 30. The Penance requires you to hold the maximum Warp Charges for 300 seconds in a single session on a Heresy difficulty level or higher. To level up your Psyker, you will be in for a grind, but it will pay off because you will need level 30 Feats to accomplish this Penance.

Weapon choice is of secondary importance for this feat because it relies on you using the Brain Burst to build Warp Charges. You can use whichever weapon you feel works best for you normally. The following list of Feats is based exclusively on Warp Charge, making it the most optimized for completing the Penance.

  • Level 5: Essence Harvest Level 10: Inner Tranquility Level 15: Psychic Communion Level 20: Kinetic Shield Level 25: Kinetic Overload Level 30: Kinetic Barrage

If you go for the Malleus Monstronum Penance, you’ll notice a striking similarity in the Feats list we compiled there. That is because both Penances require a build based around producing Warp Charges and resisting the Perils as much as possible. The only difference in this list is at Level 25, where you might want to adopt the Warp Battery instead. You will be facing an issue with Kinetic Overload because six Warp Charges will have to be maintained for 25 seconds for each one to decay, which makes it more challenging.

Warp Battery Penance Bug in Warhammer 40k Darktide

Players have been facing a bug in Warp Battery Penance in Warhammer 40k Darktide and were not able to finish the challenge. The Penance is difficult enough to accomplish, and such a glitch only adds to the player’s frustration. The problem stems from the game developer’s description of Penance, where they state that it can be completed on Malice. This information is incorrect, and the difficulty parameter remains the same with this Penance as with any other. It has to be completed on Heresy difficulty.

We have preemptively written our guide with that in mind in order to avoid confusing players and making them think it can be finished on Malice, as the game suggests. In the meantime, the game developers will hopefully fix this minor but troublesome bug.
