Audio is, arguably, one of the most important parts of any game. Sure, graphics can create a better sense of immersion, but bad audio can make or break a game. Which is why you want to be sure you are hearing everything you can.

There are a lot of different options of audio equipment you can use on the Xbox Series X, some of them wired and some wireless with the help of Bluetooth technology.

While not a native ability to the console, you can pair a Bluetooth headset to your Series X to allow for great audio quality without the hassle of any wires or cords. All you need is the right equipment.

Before pairing, you will want to make sure you have a Bluetooth adapter that works with a 3.5mm audio jack. Once you have that, follow these steps:

  • Plug your Bluetooth adapter into the audio port on the bottom of the Xbox controller. Turn the adapter on and put it into pairing mode. Turn on your Bluetooth headset and have it start searching for the Bluetooth adapter. Make sure to keep an eye on the lights on the adapter and headset to watch for a successful pairing since you won’t have an audio queue, necessarily. Once pairing is successful, set your audio settings to what works best for you.

Alternate Method

Some TV’s come with the ability to pair with Bluetooth headphones, which can also work. However, this feature usually comes with just higher-end televisions to it’s less likely to work.

It is also important to note that sometimes there can be a bit of lag because of the Bluetooth adapter and the audio being transmitted through it.
