The Wild Update added a lot of new content to Minecraft. This includes new mobs, biomes, blocks, and more. One item that will come in handy, especially as you explore the new Deep Dark biome, is the Recovery Compass. This may leave you wondering how to craft a Recovery Compass and what it does in Minecraft.
How to make a Recovery Compass in Minecraft
To craft a Recovery Compass in Minecraft, you will need a crafting bench, compass, and eight Echo Shards. Echo Shards are a new crafting component found in the Deep Dark. To make this item, place the compass in the center of the crafting bench, then surround it with the Echo Shards. This will craft the Recovery Compass.
How to use a Recovery Compass – What does a Recovery Compass do?
The Recovery Compass in Minecraft works similarly to a normal compass. But, instead of pointing north, it points toward the spot where you previously died at. It will only work if you are holding it and in the same dimension as where you died. If your death spot is in another dimension, the needle will simply spin in circles. The best use of this item is to craft one and leave it at your spawn point. This way, when you die, you can simply pull it out of your chest and go to where you died. This will allow you to reliably recover the items you dropped upon death.
