Forspoken: How to Defeat Chapalania
Once you make it to Chapter 2 and make your way through the ruins, sooner or later, you will cross paths with Chapalania. When this happens, you’ll be cornered in a clearing and unable to escape. When faced with the ginormous bloodthirsty bear, you’ll need to first lock onto it. This can be done on PlayStation by using the R3 button. This will ensure that your camera angle is always locked onto Chapalania, and you can see the mini-boss at all times. This will save you from any sneak attacks since you haven’t unlocked the dodge function yet. This can easily save your life throughout this fight.
The next thing you need to remember when heading into this fight is to make sure you continue moving. Don’t stay still. Otherwise, Chapalania’s attacks will take your health down far too quickly. While you are moving around and avoiding attacks, use your Burst Shot in order to lower its health. Also, use your Bind ability whenever you can to immobilize Chapalania so you can land more hits with your Burst Shot.
After you’ve been engaged in a fight with Chapalania for a little while, you will be given a tutorial on how to use Surge Magic, which will help a great deal, as it allows you to use heavier attacks and deal more damage. In order to use your Surge Magic, you’re going to use Bind to immobilize Chapalania, then hit both the R2 and L2 buttons simultaneously to launch the Surge Magic attack. Continue using these methods, and you will defeat Chapalania in no time.
