Bayonetta 3’s boss fight against Singularity is the most formidable and controversial encounter in the entire trilogy, but the boss is not what makes it interesting.
The Bayonetta saga is known for its excellent gameplay full of combos and visuals that range from epic to sexy, all this combined with an elegant style and snarky humor. Bayonetta 3 is no exception, as the latest entry does not shy away from the explicitly violent yet gracious boss fights that put it on the map back in 2009.
The glory of learning the combos of your favorite weapons and combining them with the appearance of a giant spider and a hellhound that catches a kaiju by the throat is as excessive – and puzzling – as it sounds.
This guide will walk you through the strategy to beat Singularity, Bayonetta 3’s final boss, to a pulp.
Who is Singularity in Bayonetta 3?
In Bayonetta 3, players must head to Thule island to prevent the big baddie from destroying the known worlds. But who is this guy?
The main enemy of Bayonetta 3 is Singularity, who, although playing as “Sigurd” and unaware of his true identity, initially aids Bayonetta in her mission to stop the Homunculi as their invasion begins.
However, his true intentions are unveiled eventually: Singularity wants to collapse the Multiverse and combine it with his reality, the Alphaverse.
How to Defeat Singularity in Bayonetta 3?
Funnily enough, this singular boss takes on three forms or phases.
Phase 1: Singularity Chaos
The first phase is the easiest of them all. You technically can fail it if you don’t catch up with the quick-time events, but it’s relatively simple.
Difficulty: Easy
Attacks: Beams and Kaiju
Strategy: Use standard attacks and do your best to land perfect quick-time events.
Phase 2: Singularity Balance
The second phase takes the difficulty up a notch and rockets you into space.
Difficulty: Medium
Attacks: Front-facing Shields, Laser Shooting, and Portal Spawning
Strategy: Your demons will come in handy to break Singularity’s front-facing shields. Don’t lose sight of the portals above you, as Singularity will spawn attacks non-stop.
Phase 3: Singularity Definition
This is the most challenging phase of the fight, so keep your senses peeled.
Difficulty: Hard
Attacks: Ring of Spears, Green Shield Burst
Strategy: Wait for the ring of spears stops moving, and land as many blows as you can.
Where to Find Medallion Shards in Bayonetta 3
Phase 4: The Actual Final Fight
The game will take you back to Viola and force you to confront the final boss: Bayonetta herself.
Attacks: Scythe Swoop
Strategy: Right after the Scythe Swoop, there’s a massive opening for you to attack.
