One of the most horrifying enemies that Rejects will encounter on their adventures in Warhammer 40K: Darktide is the Daemonhost, a creature comparable to the Witch of the Left 4 Dead series. Unlike most hostile mobs, the Daemonhost will spawn into the map as a passive entity. The being can be found rolled up on the ground, muttering the unsettling whispers of one who has been possessed. If players keep their distance, the fight with the vicious Daemonhost can be avoided, potentially preserving the limited resources or lives of the squad. On the other hand, those looking for a challenge or wish to unlock the Banisher Secret Achievement will need a strategy to take down the nightmarish monstrosity.

Defeating the Daemonhost in Warhammer 40K Darktide

The Daemonhost in Warhammer 40K: Darktide has notably less HP than that of the grotesque Plague Ogryn or Beast of Nurgle. However, this supernatural demonic being deals significantly more damage to players within a short period of time, making this opponent incredibly deadly, especially during a horde rush.

What are Scab enemies in Warhammer 40k: Darktide? Answered

Due to its lower HP as a boss, the Daemonhost is easy to burst down if a Warhammer 40K: Darktide squad has enough damage output. Nevertheless, dealing with this enemy as four human players can be incredibly challenging, as the Daemonhost moves and attacks very quickly, leaving little time for players to react. If the Daemonhost is targeting an individual, the general strategy will be to manage one’s blocking stamina while constantly dodging away to momentarily regain the stamina lost. In other words, players should never attack this boss if they are the ones under aggro and let their allies deal the damage.

Without a doubt, one of the best strategies to defeat the Daemonhost in Warhammer 40K: Darktide will be to have an Ogryn on the team equipped with a shield. The Ogryn should initiate the fight to receive aggro and allow their teammates to deal damage while they sit in a corner and block the demon’s attacks. As long as the Daemonhost’s attention is on the Ogryn, the other players will be able to safely dish out as much damage as possible without worrying about receiving retaliation. However, be sure never to initiate a Daemonhost boss battle during a horde rush or when special enemies, like Mutants, are present.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
