The Wild Update for Minecraft introduces loads of new wonders and features, but you may not quite know how to download this update and make sure it’s installed on your Switch. Here’s how to get your Nintendo Switch ready to enter The Wild.

How do you get the Minecraft 1.19 Update on Switch?

Make sure your Switch is up to date

One thing you may consider checking before updating Minecraft on Nintendo Switch is whether your console itself is up to date. Make sure to check if your Nintendo Switch needs to be updated. An out-of-date Switch console can sometimes create problems with individual games updating.

Find the update on the eShop

The first method you can use to trigger the latest Minecraft update is to go into the Nintendo eShop on your profile. Once there, navigate to the Minecraft title, either through the Library or Search function. Once on the Minecraft page, choose the option to Update the game.

Update Minecraft by starting the game

The second way you can begin updating your Minecraft game is to simply play it. Press on the game from the home screen the same way you would when you go to play it on the Switch. Once you do this, it will prompt you to install the latest update. Simply wait for the update to install, then you can just play!
