Gamers that have been looking for a spooky game to play with friends have found it in Phasmophobia. The ability to join up with a group of other players in VR or standard play have been finding their skin starting to crawl and the hair on their neck standing up because of this new title. You take on the role of paranormal investigator, and head to different locations where there has been a reported haunting. It will be your job to document proof of a ghost, by collecting evidence and making it out of the area alive!

Dropping Items

To drop items in Phasmophobia, you will need to press the G-key on your keyboard. Believe it or not, that is all that is required of you. Make sure you have the item in your hand that you want to drop, or you might be throwing down something you didn’t intend to. The only way this could be different is if you have messed with the control settings, which you will then need to take a look at and see what it has been changed to in the keybind settings. These can be found by interacting with the whiteboard in your investigator van!

Why would you want to drop an item? Well, some items are pretty useful when scattered around, because the ghost could be in different areas, and if the item is just in your hand then you might not be in the correct position that will get a reaction. In particular, you might want to throw down a Crucifix or two. If you know a ghost is in a room, you can throw down a spirit box and converse with them after you turn out the lights.

There’s also UV flashlights that can be placed around so that you can cover choke points, which will give you better access to viewing the ghost taking a stroll in that area. Basically, there’s a whole lot of uses for placing down items, because you can only be in one spot at a time, and having multiple areas covered will make it a whole lot easier to track down the ghost.
