The region of Paldea is chock-full of different dragon-type Pokémon to discover. One of the many that you can encounter is the apple trio of Applin, Flapple, and Appletun. At first glance, they may not seem like dragon-type Pokémon as Applin is quite literally an anthropomorphic apple with some caterpillar-like features. However, it’s in its evolutions that their type becomes a bit more apparent.
Similarly to some other Pokémon within Paldea, evolving Applin requires a little bit of help. If you have one in your party and you’ve been training them continuously, then you’re probably frustrated as to why they won’t evolve. If that sounds like you, then keep on reading!
How to get Appletun in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Evolving Applin into Appletun is similar to how you do it in Pokémon Sword and Shield. You need to make sure that you have a Sweet Apple in your inventory. This item shouldn’t be confused with the Tart Apple, which will evolve Applin into Flapple. You can find either of these at any Delibird Presents location for 2,200 Pokédollars after having obtained three gym badges.
Since Applin doesn’t need to be at any particular level in order to evolve, you simply need to use the Sweet apple on them. Once you do, a short cutscene will start showing off the evolution, adding Appletun to both your party and your Pokédex.
